29 January 2020: The Cabinet approved a national programme on ‘Mongolian herder’.
The programme aims at improving techniques and knowledge of livestock husbandry, preparing young generation of herders, renewing system of preparing and supplying animal sourced raw materials and products. It will furthermore emphasize on improving quality standard, productivity, cooperatives, social protection and climate change adaptation to enable herder families to run environmentally friendly and accountable livestock husbandry. The programme will be carried out for 5 years with a total of MNT 250 billion, of which MNT 30 billion come from private entities, MNT 45 billion from international organizations, MNT 40 billion from local budget and remaining MNT 135 billion from the state budget.
